Radar: Find the Story You Should Own Before Anyone Else
Radar finds the stories your clients should own, Claude sets up Projects and Radars, and deeper journalist scoring reads beyond the first article.

Hi there,
Last week, a new AI model came out and it's going to give PR a seriously big software upgrade.
It's called Jev, from TypeSafe AI. Unlike the LLMs you're familiar with, it doesn't write. It only makes decisions, like "is this headline worth your time?". The crazy part is that it's 96x faster and at 1/390th of the cost compared to Opus 5, at similar level of quality.
We knew it'd be big and built on it right away. Here's a demo 660,800 people watched: Jev read 384 headlines in 24.9 seconds for 19 cents, while Opus 5 got through 4/384.
We turned that demo into a live product in Medialyst this past Tuesday. Here's what shipped this week:
1. Radar: find the story you should own, before anyone else
Powered by Jev, Medialyst scans the news all day and flags the stories your clients (or your company) have a real reason to jump into. You get the angle and the reporters already covering it while the story's still hot, not two days later when everyone else has pitched it.
Once setup, this is delivered to your email or your slack channel every morning.
On Tuesday we tested it on 10+ of Carly's clients it read 12,104 headlines in minutes and found 55 stories ready to pitch that day.
Carly's take: "Um, yeah. This is insane."
It's included in every paid plan, for every project. Go to Projects and setup your Radar →

2. Set up Projects & Radar from Claude
You can now create and manage Projects and Radars through our MCP plugin. You don't have to click through our app at all.
This is especially useful for agencies with a lot of clients. Carly set up over a dozen client projects with one prompt: each one with its Radar set up, its files uploaded, and its preferences noted.
Open Claude and make sure you have Medialyst connected as a plugin. (It's the same setup from scanning journo requests).
Then and run this prompt:
Find or ask me about all my clients. Then use Medialyst to set each one up as a project. For each client:
- Create the project.
- Save the facts that help build media lists. Use only what I gave you, and don't make anything up.
- Upload their background files to the project.
- Turn on Radar with the email digest and run the first scan.
When you're done, give me a table showing each client, what you added, and any information that's missing.
Claude creates the projects, loads the context, sets up each Radar, and runs the first scan. When it's done, so are you. Every morning after that, your desks show up by themselves.

3. Agent now reads deeper.
Our journalist matching now reads a lot more before it scores anyone. It used to judge a reporter on the one article we found them through. Now it reads their author page, their recent bylines and the openings of their latest stories first.
It knows who covers your topic vs. who will actually write your story. A reporter can sit on your exact beat and still be the wrong person for this pitch. You won't see the editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal on the list for the survey you paid for anymore.
It also now picks up what publicists know. The reasonings are a lot more sophisticated now: paid placements, guest essayists, as-told-to first-person pieces, contributor networks, brand content, etc. A dozen signals someone who pitches every day spots in seconds. (Fun fact: we asked her for feedback and she sent 1.8 GB of it, on a loom.)
Improved scoring is live on Pro and Scale starting today. Starter and Free follow once we've watched cost and load on the rest of the system.
This week's Carly Score: 71.1 (+3.9 vs last week).
No new list this week. We re-scored last week's list and measured how journalists are scored, because that's the only part of the system that changed. So the whole jump comes from the new improved scoring.

We made the plans bigger
We bumped Pro and Scale plans to include more projects at the same cost.
-
Pro plan now includes 5 projects. (used to be 3)
-
Scale plan now includes 20 projects. (used to be 10)
There's also a lot more coming to projects, stay tuned.

P.S. Open to a new job? A recruiter from Vercel found my Jev demo on X and pitched me a comms role to run storytelling for their AI agent products. I've never had a comms job. I build agents for comms people and tbh I'm having a blast. So I said no, but it's an amazing role. If it's you, here's the job (I shared the full story here).
